About
If you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of London, make sure to carve out some time to visit Seoul Tokyo, nestled at 168 Borough High St. This gem of a Korean restaurant is a culinary haven that delights both locals and visitors alike. Renowned for its authentic flavors and generous portions, Seoul Tokyo has quickly garnered a reputation that stands out in the bustling food scene.
As I stepped inside, the atmosphere was abuzz—a testament to its popularity. Diners were enjoying flavorful dishes that transport them to the heart of Korea. One standout is the Gamjatang, a tender pork bone stew, praised for its rich flavors and comforting warmth. It’s no wonder that it has earned rave reviews, with repeat customers like Tanradee R. vowing to return each time they visit London.
Equally worthy of a mention is the spicy oxtail soup recommended by Harris Tong, which balances heat and sweetness brilliantly, making it a crowd favorite. The generous portions at Seoul Tokyo ensure that every meal feels like a feast, without breaking the bank. It’s a delightful discovery, especially for those accustomed to the higher price tags of central London dining.
On a recent visit, I was treated to their Korean fried chicken, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy within. The kimchi and seafood pancakes were also spot-on, each bite encapsulating the essence of traditional Korean cooking. E G noted the attentiveness of the staff, ensuring service felt swift yet unobtrusive—an essential quality in a bustling venue.
For anyone new to Korean BBQ, this spot is an excellent introduction. As first-timer Nico Aguillon experienced, the staff are more than willing to guide you through the menu, making the dining experience not just about food, but also about connection. The ambiance is lively, and while the restaurant can become quite busy, the quality of service remains rapid and friendly.
In conclusion, Seoul Tokyo is a must-visit for anyone in London craving authentic Korean cuisine. With its delicious offerings, reasonable pricing, and warm service, it’s no surprise that it has garnered loyalty from its patrons. Whether you're a local or just passing through, prepare to be wowed by every bite. I know I’ll certainly be returning to savor more of their incredible dishes.
“ Come here every time i visit london, and the food is just as amazing as always! Gamjatang is so soft so tender it never disappoints great prices too!! Definitely bring my other friends next time ”
“ I am definitely coming back here. Our friends and I loved it! Was really busy, service was rapid and the food was superb. Not too spicy and sweet. Good balance. Generous portions and great value, especially in cash Recommend the spicy oxtail soup and the KFC. Skip the jiajangmyeon ”
“ Very busy place so I'd recommend booking. Toilets are down some narrow stairs so not great for people with mobility issues. Food was great, everything done perfectly. Kimchi and seafood pancakes both done to perfection with a nice crispy batter. Korean fried chicken was tender inside and had a nice crisp coating outside. The BBQ meat was decent quality and well seasoned. Service was quick and attentive without being intrusive. They let us know on the phone at the time of booking that we had 1.5 hours until the next reservation was due on our table. Pretty standard for busy London restaurants. Pretty good value for central London too. I'll definitely be coming back here again. ”
“ As a Korean who has lived in London for 12 years, I can confidently say this is easily the best Korean restaurant I’ve come across here. It’s miles better than most other Korean places in London including those in New Malden. The prices are very reasonable, the portions generous, and the flavours truly authentic. I’ll definitely be coming back! ”
“ Seoul Tokyo has been a 10 out of 10 experience. We had never been to a Korean BBQ before, and a friend recommended us this place. We made a reservation and we were so happy we did. Place is small and very busy, but with an incredible service since the beginning. All the people were so kind, nice, and very helpful with us. They gave us recommendations and guided us through the menu. Food was absolutely delicious. The service is very quick, we didn’t even wait 10 minutes since we ordered. Everything was so tasty and portions were really big. We paid 40 each, but we ordered so much food we had to take some away. You can easily eat for 25/30 pp, which means a great price/quality relationship. We will definitely come back. ”
“ Been here a few times with friends. It’s always busy, so would recommend to book a table. We love the food, BBQ meat especially LA Kalbi is marinated well and flavoursome. Kimchi is nicely fermented. All dishes were deliciously made. Fried chicken is the best I’ve had but the cheese powdered flavour is very good, gives a sweet and savoury taste. They do a very good lunch deal. Staff are always polite. ”
“ My absolute favourite Korean place in London! I’ve been so many times and brought both family and friends – everyone was genuinely impressed. The flavours are so authentic and comforting. I especially recommend the spicy oxtail soup, bibimbap, and Korean fried chicken – all absolutely incredible. I still need to come back for the BBQ, but I already know it’s going to be amazing. A must-visit if you’re craving real Korean food! ”
“ Friendly staff. Clean. Excellent food with just the right amount of salt. Came here with a friend for lunch. We ordered cabbage kimchi and beans out kimchi as cold starters. We also got a seafood pancake. It’s fresh, chewy and not too oily. We each ordered a stew dish. My friend got a spicy ox tail stew with rice. I got a pork and tofu kimchi stew. Both stews came to us pipping hot. I didn’t find any of the dishes excessively salty or greasy. The rice was a mix of white rice and red rice. My friend also ordered a Korean soda drink. We also got 10% off by paying in cash. The cold dishes, pancake and two stews with rice portion came to a total of 38.50 (including the discount). This is great for value considering the quality of food was also great! ”
